Blog Post 2 from Tony

Professor Cheroske, hard at work on June 7 demonstrating the wonders of the marine world of the Mediterranean ... He did not flounder, but that fish did...

This project required "hands-on" learning for half of us...while the other half did our best effort at documentary photojournalism.

(Side Note:  Dr Cheroske thought our fish might not have been the freshest, given the relatively 'mushy' nature of the internal organs, which is interesting because while we were at the fish market earlier I noticed one customer rejecting the fishmonger's offering of particular fish after she had a chance to poke one after the other. She ended up choosing 2 fish out of about 8 she was offered. I think perhaps she knew her fish well enough to determine the relative freshness of each by a quick poke....Maybe as a fish ages, it's flesh and internal organs became less firm?).

Next up:  we get our feet wet (figuratively at least, and probably literally, and perhaps more than our feet) while kayaking...Hope the wind is with us at least one way!
