blog post #2-Monse Mendoza

This week I was able to learn about fish. There are three major groups (classes) of fish. The class Agnatha, class Chondrichthyes, and class Osteichthyes. So, it is the jawless fishes, cartilaginous fishes, and the bony fishes. Fish are remarkably diverse. Fish are the most abundant vertebrates in terms of species and individuals. They make up ½ of all vertebrates on earth. There are approximately 25,000 fish species. I was also able to learn about their external and internal anatomy. We had an activity where we had to look at a fish's external anatomy and then cut the fish up to see the internal anatomy. We then had to label the external and internal anatomy parts.
