Cagnes-sur-Mer Estuary ! — Nana Beltran
The day started as very hectic for me and Shannon as we had to run to the train station to make it on time. Luckily we got there in time and off we went to the estuary in Cannes-sur-Mer!
Once at the estuary, we noticed that the estuary had some algae. Algae is a very important food source for the organisms that live or come to take shelter within the estuary. Not only that, the algae provides oxygen to the water. Even though we couldn’t see any organisms, within an estuary there is hundreds of phytoplankton that develop there naturally.
Thanks to estuaries many different types of fish and water birds find shelter and food. For migratory fish, an estuary is a place where it is easy to breed the young, a safe haven, since it provides the essential things for survival.
