Estuary Excursion

Today was so much fun for me! The train is only a few tram stops away so getting to the train station was a breeze and it was cool being able to see a different part of the French Riviera. It was absolutely beautiful and I got to experience first hand the predator at the top of the food chain (a swan) eating the organisms in the mud that we heard about in the lecture. I didn’t smell any rotten eggs so that was cool. I also saw a few species of plants that hold into salt in their leaves. The water was also much more clear than I was expecting since it’s muddy. I could see all of the algae across the sea floor and it looked very cool! Seeing an estuary in person made the lecture resonate for me. Also I noticed there were bike cops down there by the estuary and I think it’s really cool France is very prudent about keeping their estuaries and wild life safe.
